Our Makaton sign of the week is ‘To listen’- don’t forget to ask your child to show you all of our signs! 

This week we celebrated St. David’s day and enjoyed using real daffodils and leaks to do painting with. We loved seeing the different marks that the flowers and vegetables made. 

We also looked closely at the different flowers and plants that symbolise different countries e.g rose for England, Shamrock for Ireland. 

We enjoyed tasting some Welsh food’s throughout the week in honour of St David’s day and the children had lots of fun learning about St David andwelsh traditions.

Thank you to everyone who dressed up for World Book day! We loved seeingthe children dressed up as their favourite character out of a book andspending the day enjoying lots of reading and book-themed activities, such as a guessing the story activity e.g. A little girl visits her grandma – who looks rather different, she seems to have furry ears, big eyes and a long nose which story is this?. Reading to children is such a great way to support and develop communication in children and also helps form relationships. 

We have been little scientists this week and have been experimenting! We especially loved taking part in a volcano erupting activity with baking soda and vinegar! We have added the recipe and experiment on our tapestry memo’s please do feel free to try this at home with your little ones, it was so much fun!
