Babies created a light den this week filled with sensory lights which went down a storm! On Wednesday we enjoyed St Patrick’s day themed activities and created collage Shamrocks and a green-themed ball pool pit. In addition to this, we have continued all our normal activities such as plenty of garden time and turn-taking encouraged through activities based on each child’s age and stage of development. 

This week in Toddlers, the children have loved creating different sounds with the musical instruments and they have been exploring their indifferent ways: banging, tapping, squeezing and shaking! The Toddlersreally enjoyed the maracas so we set up an activity to create their own rice shakers. The children enjoyed decorating the outside of their tubes by glueing and sticking and then adding the rice once they had dried. Wednesday in Toddlers, we celebrated St Patrick’s day, we create shamrock sun catchers, had a green tuff tray and we even had a special menu for the day!

In Lower Pre-school this week the children have been talking about spring, the children have decorated their own Spring tree using tissue paper and have been talking about growing and seasons. The children have also been re-enacting the 3 bears as their story of the week, they have enjoyed making porridge, feeding it to the bears and retelling the story in the role play area. 

This week in Upper Pre-school the children have started to talk about spring, the children have started to grow their own cress, they will be watching closely over the next few weeks to look out for any changes. We enjoyed celebrating St Patrick’s day on Wednesday, the children explored the green sensory tray, made Shamrock pictures and enjoyed a day of trying food from Ireland. We have also been learning about germs and the importance of washing our hands and have tuned our role play into a doctors surgery.
