In Babies we have loved creating some Mother’s Day surprises for our mummies this week; this has involved cooking, painting and crafting. As well as our focused activities for Mother’s Day we have enjoyed reading lots of stories, singing along to our favourite songs, whilst doing the actions! We have loved lots of messy play in the garden and having the sand outside, we especially liked using the building blocks to make impressions in it.

This week in Toddlers, we have enjoyed crafting something special just for our Mummies! We have enjoyed finger painting, decorating some biscuits and a flower too! When we weren’t getting crafty we were talking about our Mummies and what they do for us. In Toddlers, we also really enjoyed looking at pictures of our families in the ‘all about me book.

In Lower Pre-school this week we have been exploring sounds and becoming familiar with a wide variety of instruments, we have been looking at the different techniques needed to play them. Katharinebrought her guitar in and we really enjoyed joining in singing whilst she played! We have also been thinking about the concept of size and have been using different language to compare two or more objects.

This week in Upper Pre-school we have been talking about feelings and how different things can make us feel. In circle times we have been talking about who makes us happy and why. We have also made feeling pictures, which we used to express our feelings in small groups.

Our rhyme of the week is 5 currant buns and we made our own current buns and acted out the rhyme!

We have been practising our letter formation and also making special surprises for our mummies!

What a busy week!
