Baby Centre- In our baby centre we use the babies interests to support their individual developmentalneeds; this week cars and the babies used cars to support their development and learning. The babies haveenjoyed using cars to explore the motions of the cars, watching them as they roll on each surface. We havealso incorporated paint and other messy sensory items, by using cars in these. We have learnt some newvocabulary such as ‘vroom’, ‘ready, steady and go’ and even learnt to count ‘1,2,3’ through this interest andthe activities.

Hedgehogs- This week in Hedgehog’s we have focused on our listening and attention skills. To support this,we have created our very own yoga sessions within our room, with a variety of calming music. Hedgehogshave also began to learn some basic sign language to communicate, which is fantastic! We have also beenexploring the role play area; we have explored doctors with dolly patients and using real life bandages. Tofinish off our week, during focused time, we asked Hedgehogs what they enjoy doing at home the most; onechild explained they recently visited soft play- so we pushed everything aside and had a soft play room!

Pre-school- This week in Pre-school we have been exploring stories written by Roald Dahl, as part of RoaldDahl day. In celebration of this we created some activities based around some of his famous stories, such asWitches, Matilda, Georges Marvelous Medicine and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We included activitiessuch ‘medicine’ making in a tuff tray, chocolate playdough, mark making with pencils and rulers and thenfinished off creating our very own rat ears! As well as celebrating Roald Dahl day, we have been exploringsnails; developing on from our interest after finding a snail in our garden. We enjoyed making our owninterpretations of what we think snails look like. Pre-school wanted to gain further knowledge about snails, sowe watched a life cycle of a snail, learning vocabulary such as ‘sticky’, ‘slimey’, ‘shell’ and ‘hard and soft’.
